Just back from vacation in Florida….the only thing I worked on there was my tan! Finally getting back into the studio to do final vocals and mixing this month.Hope to have some new songs finished soon.

NeonWest was just hired to play a very cool 3 year old’s birthday party in Burbank , which was a first for us! It was a great time, and perhaps a new way to generate income for the band? Fun!

I’m auditioning for The Voice again in a couple weeks…still deciding on my song…I’ll keep ya posted.

Shake off the holidays and come out to Bar Pico in Santa Monica this Friday Jan 6th.

Bands start at 8pm, and NeonWest hits the stage at 9pm. It’s just Rick and I doing an acoustic set, so we’d love to have you there! Happy Hour is til 8pm with $3 wine and beer. Bar Pico is a cool bar, with funky plush seating and a really great vibe. No cover, and free parking on the street or in the parking lot behind the bar.

Nowadays, creative people do it all. “It’s a balancing act,” says Lee Lucas. She recently created her own bracelet line called The Looksy®. She is currently producing and showing an original cartoon, she performs and writes for her own band, NeonWest, and also holds down a job waiting tables.

On Thursday December 15th, Lee’s artwork and “The Hottest New Accessory out of Hollywood” The Looksy, will be featured in the Venice Art Crawl. This monthly art walkhappens every third Thursday of the month. Lee will be showing off her accessory line and her original cartoon entitled Pat Peeve, downstairs at Hotel Erwin, 1697 Pacific Ave., from 6:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.

We’ve been super busy, playing gigs, etc. We’ll be back at Bar Pico in Santa Monica in January, and at The Cinema Bar in Culver City in February. We got a review recently www.localbandreview.com, and just watched Christmas Vacation to kick off the holidays!

I headed to a bar in Culver City that I must have passed hundreds of times, but never noticed, to check out the country band NeonWest. It was a small little venue, complete with regulars that all knew the bartenders’ names. I met up with lead singer (and fellow east coast native) Lee Lucas and chatted for a bit before the 6 piece band took the stage.
